Far Reach Co. started the way a lot of campaigns do - a group of friends wanting to play together, even though we were far apart. Some of us were in California, some in Florida, and for a while one of us was playing from Italy. The only way to keep our game alive was online.
We tried the popular platforms. They worked, but something was off. Too many menus. Too much setup. Too much time spent fighting the software instead of playing the game. We wanted something that let us focus on the story instead of the platform. Something faster. Something simpler.
So we started building our own tools. First came world-building features for organizing our campaign. Then custom character sheets for D&D 5E that felt more like paper than software. Then a Virtual Tabletop - a clean canvas uncluttered by features we didn't need.
Every decision came back to the same question: does this help us play, or does it get in the way? If it got in the way, we cut it. What remained was a platform built around the things that actually matter - speed, simplicity, and staying immersed in the game.
We're not a big studio. We're a handful of musicians, artists, developers, and teachers who came together through storytelling. What holds us together isn't business - it's friendship, and the motivation to keep that friendship alive whether we're across the table or across the ocean.
We built Far Reach Co. for ourselves first. Now we're sharing it with anyone who wants the same thing we did: a VTT that gets out of the way and lets you play.
Share a laugh with us! You can find our streams and content on YouTube or TikTok.
We're also working on Aethrend, our own campaign setting born from years of homebrew adventures and streamed sessions. It carries the same spirit as everything we make: creativity, collaboration, and the joy of playing together.
To build tools that are fast, intuitive, and invisible - tools that serve the story instead of demanding attention. We're not trying to be the biggest VTT. We're trying to be the one that gets out of your way and lets you play.
